Preceding that, he worked for Korean American Churches from 1999, for over 10 years, mostly for youth, children’s and music ministries in the Virginia Conference as well as in the North Georgia Conference.
Hee Chul’s pastoral vision statement is “Ordinary Resurrections,” quoted from a book he read while attending Wesley Theological Seminary. Jesus was resurrected from his own death, and because of His resurrection, we, as ordinary people, are called to be resurrected from our own agonies of life. Our hope in life and resurrection are “ordinary” compared to Jesus’ extraordinary resurrection. The core of Jesus’ ministry is people and their lives. By Jesus’ resurrection, God is able to make a real difference in people’s lives, giving new hope and new purpose in life.
The Service of Ordination for Hee Chul was on Wednesday, June 14th at the Classic Center Theatre.
